DJI Mavic Mini review: worth buying in 2021?
DJI Mavic Mini Drone Overview
The DJI Mavic Mini is a well-balanced drone. Its light, foldable design means that there is no need to register it first and despite its size, it still manages to offer remarkably stable video.
It lasts approximately 20 to 25 minutes on a single charge in the air and could fit in a large jacket’s pocket if necessary. However, the Mavic Mini does not have object tracking or object avoidance and does not capture 4K video topping out at 2.7K and 30 frames per second.

DJI Mavic Mini key features
#1 – Flying Modes
The flying modes are simple to navigate and there are three speeds to choose from:
#2 – CineSmooth mode
which slows things down for smoother shots and more cinematic footage.
#3 – Sport mode
For more high-speed flights up to 47 km/h or about 30 miles per hour.
#4 – Circle mode
Circle mode in which the drone revolves around a specified object. However, an active track function is not available, and the drone cannot follow that object. That is one of the biggest disappointments for these drone users.
#5 – Shooting Performance:
Control over images and video capture is limited and it is not possible to change contrast or saturation settings.
The DJI Mavic Mini shoots 2.7K video at 30 frames per second or 1080p video at 60 frames per second. Its sensor can also capture 12MP images across a range of modes.
The footage looks sharp detail capturing is solid in good light and dynamic range is fair Overall, its image quality is excellent for such a small drone. The big drawback is the lack of 4K video.
#6 – DJI Fly App
For people on the move, the DJI Fly app is a great option for finding inspiration and new ideas. With multi-track video editing and professionally-designed creator templates, you can quickly edit your footage and produce an excellent video that’s ready to be shared on your social media or with friends and family.
#7 – Dedicated Remote Controller
The dedicated remote controller for Mavic Mini features an HD feed from up to 4 km away.
#8 – Handling Wind
The Mavic Mini is so light that I do not recommend using it in windy conditions.
That said, it was surprisingly stable the one breezy day I did test it There were very little side-to-side movements even with gusts
#9 – DJI Mavic Mini battery
The Mavic Mini’s batteries are 2,400mAh each Based on my experience it tends to be closer to about 20 to 25 minutes sometimes a bit longer.
#10 – Collision Sensors (Needs Improvements)
One of the major missing features in the Mavic Mini is front and rear collision-avoidance sensors. Sure, it is possible to handle the Mavic Mini without the collision-avoidance sensors the only way is by practicing and becoming a better drone pilot.
#11 – Impression
Mavic Mini is collapsible with transforming arms. The color is gray and dark gray and its front is adorned with a pair of ‘eyes’ placed under a top-side It is a good-looking drone if I may say that On the front of the Mavic Mini is the 3-axis stabilized camera On the back there is a micro SD card slot and a micro USB port for charging Above these is the battery flap
The DJI Mavic Mini’s does not include a screen; instead, it is designed to hold a smartphone.

DJI Mavic Mini price
Now I want to talk about the price and the different packages that you can select from the website. First, we have the regular package which is $399, and with this package, you are going to get the drone, one battery, a remote controller, all the cables you need propellers and that’s it.
But if you add hundred dollars more to the regular package ($499) you get the Fly More Combo in which you get two more batteries (three in total), two more pairs of spare propellers, a micro USB cable, and a 360-degree propeller guard cage which is pretty cool for the beginners out there because it will protect your drone even if you hit it in a wall or something else so that’s quite useful.
You also get a charging cup for your batteries, a USB charger, and a carrying bag.
